HOW LONG YOU FAST IS NOT IMPORTANT. THAT YOU JOIN THE STRUGGLE IS.
The Bella Bella people are a small coastal nation on the North-West coast of Canada. As a junior lighthouse keeper on Ivory Island I was on the border of their territory. Millbank Sound to be precise.
The storms there can be magnificent. One day the whole sound looked like the top of a frothy glass of beer. The wind was well over 100 MPH and the waves were just blown into froth. Another time there were swells coming in that I guestimated at 40 to 60 feet high. Earlier, before my time, a tsunami deposited a 2 ton boulder in the Senior Keepers house. That house was and is about 90 feet above high water.
The government of Canada has declared that these types of conditions pose no threat to supertanker traffic.
Neither I nor the Bella Bella’s agree with the government. If you also agree with the Bella Bella’s please help.
