Reality check; there has never been a culture that was perfect. Crime has always existed. Greed has always been in our hearts. Lust has led to loss. Slavery, prostitution, class distinctions, cannibalism, oppression and child abuse have always existed. Some cultures have developed incredible skills in certain areas. But no culture has ever been perfected.
The Teachings found within the Red Path, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Pantheism or any other ‘Way’ are being taught because unless we are constantly reminded of the ‘Way’ we quickly become barbarians. Nasty, brutish, savage, smelly, stupid and evil creatures quite capable of any and every stupidity.
By all means look to your cultural past for inspiration. Find within your history and your story ideals that are worthy of attaining. But never ever make the mistake of trying to recreate Eden. It never existed. It never will exist!
There is only one possible movement in time and that is forward.
