With the latest multi death shooting spree in the Sates the battle again rages over what restrictions there should be on gun ownership. I am not going to become part of that battle. But just for the record I do not see any conceivable reason for a weapon such as the pictured fully automatic 12 gauge shotgun to be owned by a civilian.
My question is a different one. Why is it so hard for humans, who are after all social animals, to get along? What is it in our psyche that makes us so mistrustful of other humans? Are we hard wired for suspicion, hate, violence and killing as a way to solve our problems?
I truly wish I had answers to the above questions but I don’t. If you have the answer(s) I surely would like to hear from you.
