Purgatory is the state of those who die in God’s friendship, assured of their eternal salvation, but who still have need of purification to enter into the happiness of heaven.

Many Faiths have a belief in for lack of a better term, ‘Purgatory‘. Basically it is a place of purification for those who tried really really hard but did not quite come up to the (pick your own) Boss’s standards. Some people believe in Purgatory, some people don’t.
Have no fear I am not about to come down from the mountain I live on and hand out the’Truth’. But every now and again, in my darker moments the following idea crosses my depraved and deprived mind… what if we are all living in Purgatory?
Think about it for just a minute folks. Purgatory is a place of testing. To me that means a place where choice is possible, choice for good or choice for evil. It must also be a place where both good and evil forces have the power to influence you and me. Purgatory must be able to become either heavenly or hellish depending on the percentage of people choosing either good or evil. In simple words Purgatory must be a place where we can make real choices that have real results for the world we live in.
Seems to me I just given a fairly accurate description of Earth?
Are we living in Purgatory?
Or am I just depressed?
